Getting married is an exciting moment in life. Before you walk down the aisle, there are a few things you should consider.

Ensure your new spouse has coverage.
plus

You can update your benefits to reflect your new family status. In MyADP, you can:

  • Add your new spouse to your coverage
  • Remove a dependent if needed
  • Enroll yourself or dependents if you’ve lost other coverage as a result of the change

Spousal Exclusion Reminder: You cannot cover your spouse or partner under a Kimball International medical plan if they are eligible for coverage through their own employer.

Secure your shared future.
plus

Don't forget to harmonize your financial plans as you blend your lives. From boosting your HSA contributions to re-evaluating your 401(k) goals, here's how to secure a prosperous future together.

  • Maximize your accounts: If you are enrolled in a health plan with an HSA and add your spouse, you can increase your HSA contribution up to the IRS family limits. See the Benefits Guide for more information.
  • Evaluate your savings strategy: Discuss your long-term strategy with your spouse. Are you setting enough aside in your 401(k) to reach your goals? Retirement may seem like a long time away, but remember, making small contributions each paycheck can yield a big savings balance over time.
Update your beneficiaries.
plus

Review your beneficiary designations on your life and AD&D insurance, 401(k), HSA (if you’re currently enrolled), and any other financial investments and policies to make sure your assets are allocated to the right person.

Mental health

You can get the support you need by calling 812-772-4485 and scheduling an appointment with a mental health counselor at the Kimball International Health Center (Indiana and Kentucky members). All members and their family members can also access mental health support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by Anthem — visit anthemeap.com and use login code Kimball International, or call 812-772-4485.

With the EAP, all members and their dependents can receive free, confidential assistance from licensed counselors, available 24/7. You can access multiple in-person or virtual visits per issue, per year, ensuring you get the support you need when you need it.

Additionally, through The Standard EAP, you and your dependents have access to up to 3 free sessions per issue, with urgent appointments available within 24 hours and routine appointments within five business days.

If you need additional care and are enrolled in a medical plan, more counseling options may be available to you.

Update your coverage.
plus

Review your benefits coverage to determine which plan is the right fit for you (and your dependents, if applicable) given the change. You can enroll, change your coverage, or end your Kimball International coverage, depending on your circumstances. Click here for how to enroll and change your benefits in MyADP.

Update your beneficiaries.
plus

Review your beneficiary designations on your life and AD&D insurance, 401(k), HSA (if you’re enrolled in the HDHP with HSA), and other financial investments and policies to make sure your assets are allocated to the right person. Consider seeking legal counsel before designating a minor as a beneficiary due to limitations on payouts of life and AD&D policies to minors.
